Person PTSO
The PTSO is made up of parents, teachers and students. Our goal is to support Person High School by being a bridge between all three groups.
How can we do that? Student organizations can advertise events through us. You will reach adults and students outside of your organization. Parents will learn information that helps them to support the school and their children through various outlets throughout the year. Teachers and staff come to our meetings to talk about programs that impact our students. Our forum is a way for all three groups to interact on a personal level that encourages discussion and creates a positive educational community that is beneficial, not just to staff and families of Person High School, but to our Roxboro community and beyond. We are dependent on, and encourage all parent, staff and student participation. We would love to see all three groups equally represented at our meetings.

Annual Membership dues are $5 person. Teachers, staff, students (all, not just seniors), parents, grandparents, siblings and others are all encouraged to join. Are membership dues the only source of funding? We utilize the following:

​Shoparoo App - Just use the Shoparoo app to take pictures of your shopping receipts. Take pictures of receipts from grocery stores, convenience stores, dollar stores, pet supply stores,and drug stores to earn Roo Points. We earn $1 for every 500 Roo points. The PTSO receives a check once a year in August based on the previous year's receipts submitted. You can also take pictures of your receipts from restaurants and non-grocery retailers to get sweepstakes entries that could mean $1,000 and or even $15,000 for our school. What is the money used for? The PTSO grants scholarships at the end of the school year to seniors who will be pursuing education beyond high school. We also provide additional support to teachers and staff.

Great! Sign me up! Where do I start? Print out a copy of our membership form and submit it completed with membership dues to the office in an envelope marking "PTSO Membership". Come to our next meeting and see what we are doing and how you can help.

Our Meetings are generally the third Monday of each month. Due to COVID-19 protocols - our meetings have turned into virtual meetings. The meeting will be via Zoom at 7:00pm. Bring your ideas, your questions, and enthusiasm! We look forward to seeing you at the next meeting!!!
